Rhiannon + Jaedon

How did you meet?

My husband and I met in third grade. We always had many innocent elementary crushes on each other and finally in grade nine started dating. We are now 22, just married, and have been together for eight years.

When did you know they were the one?

Even though we were so young when we first started dating, we have both always known we were each other’s person. From the beginning we were always best friends who couldn’t get enough of each other. We have been with each other for many of the big life changes and are always there to support each other in each aspirations.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

My favourite attributes of my husband is that he has such a fun loving personality, his optimism and determination. He is always able to see the good in every situation and provide the love needed to cheer you up. He never goes a day with out a quirky comment to make you laugh and he is determined everyday to fulfill his dreams and be happy.

Who proposed and how?

My husband proposed when we were camping. He got up super early and made a fire, put on some nice clothes and did his hair. He went to wake me when the sun was rising and me not being a morning person refused and stayed in bed. He put everything away and when I got up he made me a nice breakfast and coffee then he asked. Of course I said yes!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I feel in love with my dress at Novelle Bridal in Edmonton, Alberta. I put on the Louie Flowy and it instantly made me glow. I had never seen an item of clothing that fit my personality and style so well. It was so elegant but also so fun. The 3D peddles added this element of uniqueness I was looking for and over course I couldn’t say no when I found out it had pockets. I loved every bit of my dress, especially flowing it around as I spent the whole wedding night on the dance floor.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The best moment was when I made eye contact with my husband for the first time walking down the isle. You could tell we were both filled with nerves and excitement. As soon as we made eye contact the rest of the world went out the window and it was just me and him.

What were your favourite details?

My favourite details from my wedding day was the welsh dragon charm I wore on my anklet. My mom was born in Wales and moved to Canada when she was a young girl. The welsh dragon charm was a charm that my Grandpa gave my Grandma when they first started dating.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Take moments to just step back and be in the moment during your day. My husband and I left for a few 5 minute walks and just looked at our venue and enjoyed our time together. It made the day slow down and truly take in what an amazing day it was before it was over.

Any standout vendors?

Our photographer, Emma Nicole Photography (ig: emmanicoleyeg). Both of us are usually shy and awkward in front of the camera but during our photos we didn’t feel that once and we also had so much fun.
