Rachel + Jase
How did you meet?
Jase and I met online, his Tinderella as he likes to call me haha.
When did you know they were the one?
After our first date, a few drinks and many laughs later I knew my life wouldn’t be the same without him. He had such a way of storytelling I felt like I’d know him for years even though it had only been minutes. I didn’t want the night to end. His zest for life and passion is endless and infectious. We’ve shared many adventures since and our marriage is just the next great adventure in our love story.
What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?
His love, determination and courage.
Who proposed and how?
Jase proposed during a bushwalk to our favourite beach lookout. Whilst having a picnic at our spot, he suggested we take a photo together (we always get a photo when we go there). He set up his phone in a tree to take the shot. Little did I know he was actually recording.. next thing he’s on one knee asking me to spend forever with him.
Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?
I had the pleasure of visiting the St Ives Made With Love boutique to try on some of your gorgeous dresses. The boutique was bright and beautiful and it was lovely to have it just to ourselves. I was instantly obsessed with the Mila Crepe which I’d seen online, but when I put on Louie Flowy it was like nothing else. The lining was so soft and silky. I stepped out of the changeroom and my mum and maid of honour burst in to tears. When I stood in front of the mirror I could see why. This dress is STUNNING! from the cut, the beautiful layers of lace, the tiny details of the hand sewn petals and the pockets! I didn’t want to get out of it, there’s something magical about Louie
What was the best moment for you at your wedding?
It’s so hard to choose a favourite moment, because getting to marry my best friend is by far the greatest moment. There was a wonderful moment, walking down the aisle and locking eyes with my husband-to-be and instantly feeling calm. Our first dance was also an absolute blast!
What were your favourite details?
Of my dress – the beautiful hand sewn petals and the POCKETS
Of the big day – my flowers and our personalised vows were amazing
What advice would you tell other brides?
This is your big day, wear the dress that makes you feel like a bride. Don’t be scared to try on dresses that you normally wouldn’t consider, you might be pleasantly surprised.
Also, make sure the bar keeps a couple of your favourite drinks aside for you.
Any standout vendors?
All of our vendors were amazing! But Kelly and the girls at MWL went above and beyond to help me find my dream dress despite time pressures (thanks to lockdowns), even getting my dress to me earlier than expected. Also our event coordinator and bar staff with Upstairs Events who kept everyone hydrated and seamlessly coordinated a last minute wet weather change.
