Rachel + David

How did you meet?

David first saw me in one of our local pubs after I’d had a few too many and thought that obviously was very attractive (no idea how). When he plucked up the courage he sent the a message, and the rest is history!

When did you know they were the one?

So quickly. On on very first date I can remember thinking he is the one.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

There are so many but he is so kind, caring and the best role model for our little boy.

Who proposed and how?

In 2014 took me on surprise trip to the Lake District and proposed just me & him (which I was so pleased about) I would of hated for it to happen in front of loads of people!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

My first dress shopping experience was in Marrime in Jesmond, but I actually picked the veil before the dress!
On Marrime’s Instagram I had fallen in love with the Harlow Veil and a knew I needed to a find a dress to go with it.

I chose a wish list of 5 dresses before going, and every one was either lacy, low backed or with straps. I quickly realised they were not the dresses for me and wanted to try something more traditional.

The Lottie was so perfect and knew instantly it was the right one. I didn’t want to take it off. It is simply beautiful, timeless and elegant
…And matched the Harlow veil perfectly!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

So many to list but my favourites were seeing David and our little boy waiting for me at the end of the aisle.
Also the ‘first look’ with my Dad was so special and emotional.

What were your favourite details?

The Harlow veil will always be such a special detail to me, I honestly would wear it every day if I could get away with it.

David also had made a memory book of ‘our journey so far’ that I opened 20 minutes before I walked down the aisle, it’s safe to say I need a touch up before I left!

Also for our first dance we had the acoustic and dance version of Cece Peniston – Finally (one of our favourite songs) put together. It got everyone on the dancefloor and kicked the party off perfectly.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Very cliché but to try and enjoy every moment, even the stressful parts!
