Payton + Matt
How did you meet?
Matt and I met in college and bonded over our love for playing music. We eventually were on the same music team and the rest is history!
When did you know they were the one?
I knew after we went on our first date! We sat and talked about the most important things in our lives and I immediately knew this relationship was different. It was so easy with him and felt so right!
What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?
He is kind, compassionate, and the funniest person I know. He is such a fun person to be around, and I’m the luckiest girl in the world because I get to hang out with him for the rest of my life!
Who proposed and how?
He proposed to me at Bold Rock Cider in Nellysford, VA! He told me we were getting dinner with his parents, but we ended up stopping at Bold Rock spontaneously – he took me to a spot on the river and proposed! He even had a photographer hiding so we could have photos. After that, I came home to a surprise engagement party with all of our favorite people there. Best day ever!
Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?
At Annalise Bridal Boutique in Richmond VA. I had seen pictures of the dress online, but I knew it was the one as soon as I put it on! It made me feel confident, feminine, and elegant
What was the best moment for you at your wedding?
Seeing all of our friends and families laughing together. Matt and I have the most special people in our lives – they even sat through the ceremony when it started pouring!
What were your favourite details?
I planned my own wedding so seeing my vision come to life was so amazing. I had the best team of people helping me the whole way, and I was so proud of how it turned out!
What advice would you tell other brides?
I know it’s a stressful time, but don’t wish it away! It goes by so fast, so try to enjoy it all!
Any standout vendors?
Our photographers were incredible! Their names are The Lumiere Collective and having them there was one of my favorite parts of the day.
We had Rookies, which is an ice cream sandwich business based in Lynchburg, VA. We did this instead of a cake and people LOVED it!
