Paige + Dylan

How did you meet?

I like to say we met at our childhood daycare “Wee Care” but we were different ages and in different rooms, but you never know if we crossed paths or not. We ended up connecting when I was graduating high school, since we lived in neighboring towns. Dylan was the boy who came to all of my softball games and cheered me on. He even went out of his way to paint himself my school colors for our championship game. We went on many dates and the rest was history.

When did you know they were the one?

I knew Dylan was the one when he would tell me that he loves me, and I would get this feeling that you couldn’t shake the feeling like you were “home” but with a person. Dylan always knows how to make me feel safe, and loved and has done that from the beginning of our relationship. He knows how to make me laugh, and smile all day long. He is the person that knows what to say when I need it the most. I always knew he was the one through the way I would catch him looking at me.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

My three favorite attributes about Dylan are his love for me/family/friends. Dylan is the type of person who will go to the ends of the earth for the ones he loves. This makes me fall in love with him so much more each and everyday. My second favorite is his ability to say the right words of comfort whenever I need it most. He is the sweetest man and just provides me with so much love that I always feel so grateful. The last is that he is so organized. Without Dylan I would be lost. Dylan kept me a float when planning the wedding he kept track of what was done and what needed to be done. He does this in our day to day lives as well.

Who proposed and how?

Dylan proposed on Christmas Day 2020. I headed to his parents house to meet him for his family’s party. When I arrived I was greeted by a large box covered in wrapping paper. In my head I had been waiting for this day for 7 years but didn’t even know it was coming. In my head I thought he was hiding in the box with a puppy. When I opened the box he came out and got down on one knee. It was one of the best moments in my life. I was so overwhelmed with happiness, joy, and love and replay it in my head all the time.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I scheduled my first dress appointment at Lovely Bride in Rochester NY. I chose Lovely Bride because I loved the selection especially the MWL gowns. The gowns they offered were dresses that I have never seen before and were so unique and beautiful. I immediately fell in love with them while online shopping and knew I had to go try them on in person. When going into dress shopping I thought I would want something simple and clean like “Archie” since it is more my everyday style, but then along came “Ryder”. When I tried on “Ryder” I could not stop looking at the dress and how beautiful it made me feel. I had never seen anything like this dress before. The detailing and sparkle was just enough for me. I knew it was my dress, I could see myself walking down the aisle and saying “I do” to Dylan in this dress. When I put on this dress I felt so confident in my skin, so happy, and so beautiful. I had the cheesiest smile just knowing I was going to get married in one of the most beautiful gowns I had ever seen. The “Ryder” gown also fit so well with where I was getting married, it was a match made in heaven.

What was the best moment for you at the wedding?

One of the best moments at my wedding was the first look with my husband. I had been waiting for this moment since I bought my dress, since I knew he would be surprised by my dress. Also because we took this time to share private vows. It was so intimate and special hearing what we wrote for each other.

Another favorite moment was our guest list. We kept our wedding small and intimate. It was a day spent with ~60 of our favorite people. Everyone who came holds such a special place in our heart that I was so filled with joy to celebrate this milestone with them.

What were your favorite details?

One of my favorite details were the flowers for our wedding. A majority of our flowers were tulips. I knew I wanted tulips at my wedding because they were my grandpa’s favorite flower. Unfortunately my grandpa passed away while I was in college so he did not get to celebrate with us, but this was my way of having him with us throughout the whole night. The second favorite was our guestbook. We did After The Tone and I thought this was a special way to hear all of our loved ones and all their lovely advice and laughs. My final favorite detail was our in memory table. We created a table with all of our loved ones that passed so guests could take a moment to remember them and all the memories that were made with them.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Every amount of effort you put into your wedding is worth it, even if it is only for a day. You will remember this day for the rest of your lives. Enjoy the little things, but always make sure you are happy at the end of the day and most importantly speak up and trust your gut. One last thing don’t forget to look at your spouse and smile with them because you just got married and there is no better feeling than that “fresh” married feeling.

Any standout vendors?

All of my Vendors deserve to be put on a pedestal and showered with love. They all made our day so amazing and a day that I wish I could relive over and over. The venue Sinclair is a hidden jem that I immediately fell in love with when I went to visit. The owners were so accommodating and helped my vision come to life. The Chef Marc from Rosalie’s Cucina made some of the best food I ever tasted. Marc made whatever out hearts desired for dinner, and supplied tents last minute due to a random rain shower. He made the day run so smooth. Our videographer Justin from Mayer Video was outstanding. His work was so beautiful and he captured every special moment in a way that I will watch on repeat for the rest of my life. My photographer was extra special. I met her when her daughter was in my preschool class. Once I met her I knew that I wanted her to photograph all my major life moments for the rest of my life especially my wedding. She was the first vendor I booked after booking my venue. I reached out to her minutes after signing the contract. She has such a way to capture the special moments and just make them look effortless and beautiful. She is the sweetest human alive. Our DJ Jason from Salt City Sound Machine, knew exactly what music to play to keep the crowd dancing and having the time of their lives. Our last Vendor was A note of elegance who played our ceremony music and it was the most romantic music I had heard. It made our ceremony that much more special to me and my husband.
