Olivia + Reid

How did you meet?

We met in high school in 2011. Reid, my now husband was a senior and I was a sophomore. We were great friends for a few years until we finally started dating in college. In 2016 we were surprisingly expecting our first baby, a boy. In 2019 we welcomed our second son.

When did you know they were the one?

The day I met him.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

He is the best dad to our boys, he makes me laugh, and he puts our family first above all else.

Who proposed and how?

Reid proposed to me in June of 2021 after many years of anticipation from our families (and me.) Between raising our babies and our dogs, working and caring for our home, marriage wasn’t on the top of our list and we had many people putting that pressure on us for years. Reid took me to one of the best restaurants in our hometown of Louisville, Kentucky, just the two of us. We sat side by side and had a lovely dinner with a decent amount of wine. The whole night I could tell he was nervous and I began to wonder what was going on. Finally he said he wanted to ask me a question, and he slid the ring over to my finger, of course I said yes!!!!!!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I actually saw MWL on Instagram the month after I got engaged. There were no retailers in Louisville so I made appointments at bridal boutiques in Cincinnati, Ohio. My second appointment of the day was at Hyde Park Bridal, who had called me in advance to see what styles/designers I was interested in. When I got there they had pulled all of the MWL gowns. I went into it with my heart set on Harlow, but then I met LOLA. she was perfect in every way. I remember thinking we were made for each other. I tried all of the gowns on and the owner of the shop said, Okay, let’s put Lola back on! I’ve never felt more beautiful in anything. I love Lola and she will always hold a special place in my heart

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

My wedding was on the rooftop garden at my favorite place in the world, Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky derby. Right before the ceremony began, clouds were halfway covering the sky and a huge gust of wind came through along with a few bolts of lighting. The prelude and Bridal processional began, my Dad and I stepped up to our holding area and as soon as our song started the sun started to shine, and it was beaming down as he walked me down the aisle. It was so beautiful and of course Lola and I were glowing.

What were your favourite details?

Everything. Lola has a simple nature with a unique twist, the corset top and neckline, the back. The belt is such a perfect detail and my favorite above all is how comfortably Lola highlighted my best features, she made me feel like I was dripping in Diamond Dust
