Olivia + Jordan

How did you meet?

In the most modern of ways, a swipe right followed by a London date night of Thai food, cocktails and drunken photo booth pictures!

When did you know they were the one?

We introduced each other to our mothers on date number 2!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

He is sunshine in human form, the calmest soul and always puts us first.

Who proposed and how?

He proposed on a trip to Zanzibar! He took us on a sunset Dhow boat trip. With rosé wine in plastic cups, bare feet, an Afro-soul playlist on our speakers, he chose the perfect sunset moment to get down on one knee!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

At a bridal shop called Halo + Wren, UK. Louie Flowy was the one in the window and after I bought her, I scrolled back to find out it was the first dress I had pinned on my Pinterest board many months before! My mum and sister agreed instantly; she’s the one!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

It’s hard to choose! Firstly, walking down the aisle! Time felt so focused and slow! And another moment I didn’t expect to have was watching my girls walk ahead of me. I hid in a discreet spot and with their aisle music playing. I watched my niece, who was flower girl, my best friend, who was bridesmaid and my twin sister, who was my maid of honour walk down the pier. Another moment I loved was walking around the tables as people ate, drank and shared their joy with us – there were so many happy faces!

What were your favourite details?

We got married on the island of Cyprus, in the northern beach town of Kyrenia. The ceremony was on the edge of the Mediterranean Sea. We wed at the end of a pier as the sun set; cocktails and canapés were served in a beach terrace for golden hour accompanied by a saxophone player. Later, we dined and danced in a fairy-lit olive grove with a backdrop of mountains.

What advice would you tell other brides?

A destination wedding means your special day is really your special ‘week’! Our families and friends came together for a wonderful holiday and made memories to last a lifetime! Other advice: spreadsheets, a wedding website and fortnightly/monthly wedmin breakfast dates with your fiancé and laptops!
