Michelle + Isaac

How did you meet?

Isaac and I briefly dated in high school! We both went to different colleges and would keep in touch from time to time. After I graduated from college, I moved back home and began working as the Banquet Event Manager at The Barn at Wight Farm in Sturbridge, MA. Isaac reached out to congratulate me and told me that he used to work there in high school and college as a banquet server. About a month into working there, I was working a wedding with the Sales Manager and she said “You know, there’s a guy that used to work here who would have loved you.” When I asked her his name, she told me it was Isaac and when I told her and the banquet staff that we had actually dated in high school, everyone couldn’t believe it. Then, not too long after that night, I walked into work one day to find Isaac and the Sales Manager sitting up in the reception space. Isaac had just moved home from Florida (that day) and wanted to say hi to his old boss. That night I was short staffed and Isaac went home to grab his dress pants and black button up and came to work as a server for me! Everyone gave us shit the whole night, especially now that I was his boss LOL. Four years later, we got married at that same event venue that brought us back together again. We used all the same staff, bartenders, vendors, etc. as the ones I knew back in 2018 so everyone who witnessed our love then could celebrate with us.

When did you know they were the one?

It’s so weird but when I saw him again for the first time in 2018, I knew something was completely different this time around. We both were so comfortable around each other and it was unlike anything both of us have ever experienced before.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His loyalty, sensitivity, and his heart.

Who proposed and how?

Isaac proposed to me Memorial Day Weekend 2021 on the Boston Common.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

In my mind I wanted a simple yet chic, boho dress but didn’t know where to start. I believe I started to Google different dresses when I came across The Louie and without even trying it on, I knew it was the one. When I got to the bridal shop, I only wanted to try on Made With Love dresses and of course the first one I tried was Louie and it was an instant yes.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Either my first look with Isaac or when we officially said “I Do”. And the open bar was pretty nice too hahaha.

What were your favourite details?

Not really a detail but a really special moment that I want to share. While doing a first look with my dad, I also bought him a gift. Back when my parents separated, I went with my dad to the pawn shop as he pawned his favorite gold link chain. He did it so him and I could go on vacation when I was 12. I always told myself that one day I was going to buy it again for him because it was his favorite thing he always wore. I received my first bonus at work about a month before the wedding and as soon as it hit my account, I went to Kay Jewelers and bought him the matching chain. I gave it to him during first looks and it was such an emotional but amazing moment.

What advice would you tell other brides?

I know everyone says it but it goes by so fast! Try to enjoy your time, make sure you sit down and EAT!, and do your best not to stress. At the end of the day, who cares if a centerpiece is missing or something is out of place, you get to marry your best friend and that’s all that matters!
