How did you meet?

My husband and I met on the dating app Hinge. I was just about to delete the app and thought I’d never find my person there. I decided to go on one more date after I matched with Mike and we hit it off! I did get to finally delete the app, but for better reason 🙂

When did you know they were the one?

It sounds silly, but I knew my husband was the one after I saw how he treated my dog. My dog is my best friend and he immediately treated her like she was his own. They got along so well from the start and I knew he would fit in with us perfectly! Now they are best friends and sometimes I think she likes him more than me!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

My three favorite attributes of my husband are his drive to succeed, the way he puts me first always, and his ability to talk to anyone.

Who proposed and how?

My husband proposed on December 5, 2020. It was during the pandemic, so we hadn’t been out of our apartment much. He suggested we go for a walk along the river in the city we lived in. It was particularly cold and raining, so I thought it was odd that he wanted to go for a walk. I delayed the walk for a few hours, suggesting we do things around the apartment instead. He finally insisted that we go on the walk. We walked until we came to a more open area with a dam and waterway. He was visibly nervous and that’s when I realized what was happening! He got down on one knee and I totally blanked on everything he said. All I remember is saying yes and shaking! After he proposed, we went to my parents house where both of our families were waiting for us. It was the best day!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with my dress at Lovely Bride Philadelphia. I had seen the dress on MWL’s Instagram and was interested in it from the start. I loved how simple and elegant it was, while still being modern and unique. The simplicity of the front with the stunning open back just wowed me. My dress, Archie, was the first dress I tried on and I knew it was the one. I tried on close to 10 after that, but my mind kept coming back to Archie. I tried it on one last time with a veil and knew it was the one for me.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The best moment for me was the first look with my husband. We decided to do a first look so we could do our photos before the ceremony and enjoy more time with our guests during cocktail hour. I was so nervous all morning while getting ready and was anxious anticipating the first look. As soon as my husband saw me, I felt a wave of relief along with overwhelming emotions. We both cried, and it made the day feel so much more real! Having that time with him before the day was so special.

What were your favourite details?

My favorite details of our day were the cocktail napkins with our dog on them, our signature drinks, and of course my dress!

What advice would you tell other brides?

I would tell other brides to always stay true to yourself. Throughout the entire wedding planning process you will hear a lot of opinions from other people. Take those opinions in, but don’t forget to always do what you want. Remember that at the end of the day, the only opinions that matter are yours and your partner’s.
