Marissa + Ian

How did you meet?

My husband and I met at a house party in college and have been together ever since! He and I sat together at the party once we met all night, exchanged numbers, and the rest is history!

When did you know they were the one?

I knew Ian was the one when he traveled down the shore to see me late, late at night even though he had no place to stay. He would drive just to see me and then drive all the way back home.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

My three favorite attributes about my partner is his sensitive heart, his calming demeanor, and his sense of humor. His handsome good luck and charming personality are extra goodies :)!

Who proposed and how?

Ian took me out to dinner on June 23, 2021 near our college on a Wednesday evening. After dinner, he drove through our college campus. This may sound like it would have given it away but did this often, so I just thought it was a regular visit. Ian parked his car between our old dorms, and he asked me to grab his backpack out of the trunk. I got out to grab it for him, and when I walked it around to the driver side door, he was on his knee and asked me to marry him!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with my dress when I tried it on at lovely bride in Philadelphia. It was the 2nd dress I tried on. It felt like a match made in heaven because it fit me perfectly and had all the components I would have wanted, such as the open back, the deep
V neck line, the long train, etc. The dress was so beautiful and eye catching but still me at the same time. My style is very simple, sleek, and clean- and Archie matched it perfectly.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The best moment at my wedding was when I walked down the aisle and saw my husband for the first time. His smile was so big with tears in his eyes. Another favorite of mine was the last song of the night Ian (my husband) requested for us because it was the first song he showed me in college that said it reminded him of me. The song was called Be Your Girl.

What were your favourite details?

My favorite details were my tall centerpieces with giant greenery, such as palm leaves & my veil and earrings. They completed my whole look.

What advice would you tell other brides?

One piece of advice that I live by is less is more and do not stress the small stuff. To much emphasis on details or things can create clutter or unnecessary stress for no reason. Things will go wrong, but all the time and money you just spent on this day shouldn’t be deterred by minor mishaps. Enjoy the day because it’s about honoring your love for your person, that’s all that matters.
