Margaret + James

How did you meet?

We’ve been friends for 15 years! We first met in the early days of college and were always close, but it wasn’t until years later that we finally took the plunge and decided to date.

When did you know they were the one?

It sounds crazy, but before we even started dating. I think that’s why it took us so long to give us a try – we knew there would be no turning back.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

There isn’t a bad attribute in the mix: he’s kind, he’s genuine and he makes me laugh.

Who proposed and how?

In the early days of dating, our meeting point became a park on the corner of Carmine Street in the West Village of NYC. 5 years and a cross-country move to Austin later, I was back in New York for what I thought was a friend’s bachelorette weekend. As I made my way to meet the girls, I walked through that same park, where James was waiting.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I had been to a few boutiques and tried on dresses I liked, but didn’t have that moment where it all clicked. I would say I loved the top of this dress, but that skirt of that dress, and the back of another. I had a vision in my head of what I wanted but couldn’t find it – and then Made With Love popped up on my Instagram explore page with a picture of the Louie Flowy and that was it!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Walking back down the aisle after the ceremony, holding hands and looking at the faces of all the people we love, smiling back at us.

What were your favourite details?

Our floral! I could swoon over our florals daily. We didn’t want to send any décor over and wanted florals and the views to be our décor – they didn’t disappoint.

What advice would you tell other brides?

I know it sounds cliché, but it really does go by in the blink of an eye, so do your best to be present and enjoy each second.
