Magen + Charlie

How did you meet?

We were both living in Washington, DC, USA, where we still live now. Our first date was on a totally unexpected snow day. We went on a walk around the city and ended up walking and talking for hours in the snow. We’re both introverts but somehow couldn’t run out of things to talk about. We decided to try to find a place to get coffee or tea, but everything we came across was closed due to the snow, but it didn’t even matter because we were enjoying each other’s company so much.

When did you know they were the one?

We both knew we had found the one after we met each other’s families 🙂

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Charlie is incredibly caring, dedicated to everything he does and is hilarious

Who proposed and how?

Charlie proposed on a rainy day while we were on a walk, like on the day we first met 🙂

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I tried on my dress (Bobbie) at Lovely Bride DC and absolutely fell in love with the lace details and the jaw-dropping train. I kept thinking about it after trying it on and knew it was the one. Later, I saw the Made With Love tulle wings and fell in love with how fun and beautiful they are too!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

We had to postpone our wedding due to COVID-19, and decided to officially get married in a small ceremony. A year later, we were so excited to finally celebrate with friends and family! We had so much fun with our first dance to Whitney Houston’s I Want To Dance With Somebody.

We also had a really special and sentimental toast to honor both of our dads, who have passed away. We had a dessert toast with Oreo milkshakes and coffee ice cream, in honor of special moments we had shared with each of our dads.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Have fun and don’t be too hard on yourself! Also, focus on doing what feels right and best reflects you and your partner, rather than what you think you “should” do.
