How did you meet?

We’re a tinder success story! We both went on it when it first came out along with friends, not expecting to actually meet anyone. He was the only person I went on a date with and we had the best time getting to know each other over a few dates in London before becoming more serious. We bought our first flat together after 2 years and have never looked back!

When did you know they were the one?

On our first Valentine’s Day, I told him I didn’t want to celebrate because I’d never enjoyed it and didn’t believe in it, and he turned up at my flat on his way to work in the morning with roses, chocolate and a card and said “see you later for dinner”! We had so much fun that night and it really showed me how thoughtful, caring and fun he is. We now always celebrate Valentine’s Day!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Kindness, sense of humour, passion

Who proposed and how?

He did, on our holiday to South Africa – he knows one of my favourite things is wine so he waited until the last part of the trip when we were staying in Stellenbosch in a hotel that looked out over vineyards. We did a ‘walking and wine’ route out of the hotel and visited a few wineries before he got down on one knee in between some vines with the mountains behind us. He’d kept the ring hidden the whole trip and I just burst into tears as soon as I realised! We then went for a picnic with food and wine from one of the wineries and had the rest of the holiday to celebrate together before heading home.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

We got engaged February 2020 and I immediately starting searching for dresses online. As soon as I saw Carla I fell in love with it and felt like it could be my dress so planned to find where I could try it on. As soon as the pandemic started we put Wedding planning on hold and I stopped looking for dresses, worried I’d change my mind if we had to wait a long time. We booked our Wedding in May 2021 and my first thought was Carla – I couldn’t stop thinking about that dress! I found her in a boutique near to where my Mum lives so we went to try it on – I tried multiple different styles before hand but as soon as I put Carla on I got goosebumps and welled up. The shape made me feel amazing and the flower detail is so beautiful – it was such a lightweight comfortable dress to wear but also felt so special and got so many compliments on the day.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The part I was nervous about was the ceremony but as soon as it started it was such a magical part of the day – standing next to my husband and saying vows with our friends and family around us just made me feel so happy and I’ll never forget it. But the whole day was incredible – getting ready with my girls, the reception and seeing everyone there and of course the party in the evening!

What were your favourite details?

My flowers made me cry as soon as I saw them, it was one of the things I had been most passionate about in the planning and they were just stunning! We had my partner’s Mum made our cake which was just incredible and she arranged flowers on the top so looked beautiful and so nice to have the personal touch. The details on our tables were also stunning, we had gold beaded charger plates and menus and stationary cards that we’d had designed to feature our exact flowers so everything tied together really well.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Try to take it all in as much as possible – the day goes so quickly but try to pause and look around you as much as possible because it really is an amazing feeling to be celebrating with everyone you love all in one place and celebrating your love for each other.

Any standout vendors?

Ruby and Grace our florist was amazing – the flowers were beautiful and Hannah was so amazing at listening to what we wanted and helping source everything
Goose & Berry our caterers were also brilliant – the food got so many compliments, especially from the vegetarians who often don’t get as good quality as meat eaters!
Bridesmade Artistry were incredible hair and make up artists and made me feel so confident and my bridesmaids looked amazing!
