Leticia + Joshua

How did you meet?

In 2014, my 18 year old self embarked on a 2 week long Contiki Tour #noregrets through Vietnam. Josh, my now husband, was already on this tour and traveling for a month with Contiki. We met at a bar on the first night of the tour…

When did you know they were the one?

Day 3 of our Contiki Tour I told my best friend I had met my future husband. We spent a year in a long distance relationship between Gold Coast, Queensland and Perth, Western Australia. One year later we went to Europe for 4 months before diving in deep and buying a house together!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Josh is one of those people that is liked by everyone, he is kind, funny loves to boogie.

Who proposed and how?

Josh did! Duh! In March 2020, we had been traveling for a about month and COVID was starting to become a real issue. We were in Tell Aviv, Israel when our flights home were cancelled and Israel was closing its borders and we needed to leave. We spent the morning stressed but managed to get return flights home so thought we best make the most of the day: we went to the markets, craft breweries and wandering the street before we headed to the top of the hill to Ramses II gate to watch the sunset. Josh said we should take a selfie and set the camera up (on video mode) got down on one knee and popped the question. What we didn’t know was a local family was behind us and congratulated us after yelling ‘Mazel Tov’

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I tried on Lola the the Gold Coast boutique. I had chosen a few dresses prior to try in and the fabulous assistant in store was so helpful. I loved all the dresses I tried on but none were quite right. My mum begged me to try on Lola – yet I had said I wanted nothing which too much bling or backless. But I hadn’t even come out of the change room and knew Lola was my dress.

What was the best moment for you at the wedding

I definitely should be saying marrying my husband… but the first look with our closest family was definitely the best part of the day!

What were your favourite details?

I recommend everyone hire an ice cream cart for their wedding it was a total hit. We also had a love musician and he absolutely made the night !

What advice would you tell other brides?

Breathe. You’re marrying your best friend, the day will be perfect no matter what happens!
