How did you meet?

I had one of those life-altering moments, picked up and moved away from everyone and everything I had known for my 30 years. Started a new job that was physically and mentally exhausting, and my 6th week there I met him!! There was instant chemistry the neither of us could resist. He trained me for 6 blissful weeks, he was so motivating prob why I stayed at my job. And then his job assignment got moved and poof he was gone. 2 years later he was placed on a job right beside mine and there was no resisting our chemistry and 5 years later we were married!

How did you know they were the one?

I know it sounds so cliche but it was immediately before he’d even spoke! He just gave off this vibe of confidence, calmness, and oohhh I don’t even know and I was smitten!! I told a girl I worked with, the first time I saw him he was the one. She still reminds me to this day what I told her the first time I saw him ” if I could just have him I’d never ask for another thing in life”!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His confidence, kindness, directness.

Who proposed and how?

He did! We were in Jamaica and he surprised me with a candlelit dinner at sunset out on the water. When our waitress lifted the lid off dessert it was written in chocolate and he was down on one knee!! I cried he cried, I think the waiter may have cried!!! Lol

What was the best moment for you at the wedding?

So we had a destination wedding so everything was pretty much done via email, sight unseen. So for me just seeing everything come together. It was the most beautiful day and everything played out perfectly, it was a dream. Saying I do to the man I’d dreamed of, in the dress I’d hoped for, in paradise! What more could I ask for? Well in a beautiful suite, with amazing food, and an undeniably fabulous staff!!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

All your life you dream of this perfect dress that you can’t imagine even exists. So you make the appointment with a glimmer of hope that it exists. So I know I’m an untypical bride, no princess foofy, glitter, beaded sequined out mess for me! I’m sexy, sophisticated, and a little racier! I saw the ad for Lovely Cincinnati and knew almost like him that she (my dress) was there!! Schedule an appt and then covid hits!!! So then it’s you only get to try on 5 dresses that you preselected online, nerve-wracking! I walked into the store and my 5 were in the room and I was immediately drawn to the pattern, shape, and sexiness she exuded! She was mine!!

What advice would you tell other brides?

Breathe in every moment, take time to absorb it all. Laugh at mishaps, and let it roll. Just enjoy the day!

What were your favourite details?

I think my favorite thing was wearing my grandmother’s jewelry. She had an elegant classical taste and each piece she left has such a profound ingredient moment for me. As a child, she’d pull me in her lap and tell me about each piece and how she had chosen it or why she designed it that way, and how one day they’d be mine. To care and love them as she had. She meant so much to me and we chose her birthday to be married on.
