Kristy + Tyler

How did you meet?

We met at work 6 years ago. At the time, we both worked at the Cotton On Group head office in Geelong. I was in marketing and he was a Personal Trainer at the work on-site gym. We were friends at first and then once he left head office, we started dating.

When did you know they were the one?

It wasn’t long into dating when I realised we both have the same values and an eerily similar sense of humour. I hadn’t met anyone that made me cry with laughter before – every single day! Life with him is so fun and it’s a joy to wake up and live life with your best friend. When you find ‘the one’, even the most mundane things in life become enjoyable.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

I’ll do a buy 3, get 1 free kind of deal. My favourite attributes of Tyler’s are his sense of humour, kind heart, positive outlook on life and his love for family.

Who proposed and how?

Tyler proposed! We went on a jet skiing tour one weekend (we’d done this before so it wasn’t out of the ordinary) and as part of the tour, you can hop off the jet skis and explore some islands. While we were alone walking around, he dropped on one knee and proposed! Afterwards, we stopped into an island bar for some drinks and then had an hour ride home while the news set in. It was the most perfect day ever!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I’d tried a few stores before finding Made With Love… and as soon as I tried their gowns on, I knew I’d find my dress here. They’re all absolutely beautiful and there’s a style to suit every bride. Harlow was by far my favourite and really comfortable as well (which was a priority). I made a few alterations so it fit me perfectly and added the beautiful Elsie bows, instead of having a veil – this was the best decision I made!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

There were three favourite parts – walking down the aisle to Tyler, our ceremony and our speeches. Everyone who we asked to speak nailed it!

What advice would you tell other brides?

I would say to do whatever feels right to you as a couple. We culled lots of normal wedding traditions to make it a fun, relaxed day. Our main priority was the dance floor which went for a solid 3+ hours – so fun!
