Khloe + Cal

How did you meet?

My husband & I meet when we were in 6th grade. We always had a crush on each other but we’re too scared to talk to one another. We both secretly just hoped inside that one another liked each other. We met at a Junior High Bible study group. Ever since then we’ve fallen more and more in love with one another. We truly are one another’s best friends. Nothing makes me happier than spending time with him.

When did you know they were the one?

I knew he was the one when I realized he made me such a better person. Every second I was around him I was filled with such joy and peace in my life. It was as if all the worries of the world were gone and it was just us to enjoying life together. I knew he was the one because you care for me and lunch for me like I’ve never felt before. He put the Lord first in his life and that was something that really stuck out to me. He makes me laugh till I cry and he comforts me so we’ll in my times if need. He truly is the most genuine and sweet man.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

There are so many attributes I could share about my husband but my three favorites are how patient, loving, and fun he is. Whether we are stuck in traffic he never gets frustrated he always strives to make whatever we are doing fun. He cares for me so we’ll and always puts my needs before himself. He loves me by waking up early to make me breakfast or takes pictures of us together because he knows I want one. He truly makes it his goal to make me happy and he does such a good job of it. I feel so blessed to be able to call Cal my husband.

Who proposed and how?

My husband proposed to me last year on November 6th. We went for a day to surf in Cayucos. Cal (my husband) asked if I wanted to go paddle boarding on the same paddle board and I said uhhh sure not having an idea what was going on. So we get out in the middle of the ocean and he asked me to turn around and so I slowly turned around trying not to fall in and then he was on ONE KNEE! On the PADDLEBOARD! After I said yes we both ended up falling in the water and it was the best day of my life. He proposed with a rubber ring then gave me my real ring on the beach!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with the Harlow dress as soon as it came out. I saw it on your website and knew it was exactly the one I wanted because I had never seen anything like it before. I went to Ivory Bridal Boutique in Clovis and tried it on as my first dress, expecting it not to work out. I tried it on and it was the most gorgeous dress ever. I tried on 5 more just to be safe but no other dress was even close to this one. It fit me so perfectly. I love this dress mainly because of the small details like the amazing 3-D flowers on the dress and the adorable belt. The thing that sold it for me was the gorgeous scoop back low cut. Everything about this dress screams perfection! I truly haven’t seen anything else like it and that’s mainly why I choose it.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The best moment for me at the wedding was right after our ceremony. It was the best feeling knowing that you just married your best friend. It was like as if all the worries in the world are gone. No more goodbye’s as it was the start to our forever. It was such a surreal feeling knowing that you are married and now you get to have fun and celebrate. All the stress of the details were done and it was now time to have fun! One of my favorite parts though was we did our first dance on a floating dock and it was so magical it felt like we were the only people at our wedding and it was such a fun intimate time with my husband. The guest put out floating lanterns and so it really felt like we were in a Disney movie. I honestly really loved every part of the wedding such as getting ready, the ceremony, reception, first dance on a floating dock, and sparkler exit.

What were your favourite details?

My favorite details of the wedding was just seeing everything come together. You plan for months of little separate things but you never see it fully come together until that day. I loved getting to see how the tables and flowers looked the day of and our gorgeous cake displayed. I loved getting to put on my dress and do a first look with all my best gals! Loved getting to walk down the isle and see my groom standing there with tears in his eyes. It was such a precious moment.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Some advice I would tell other brides is soak the day up as much as you can. It goes by so quickly it’s important to take notes of the little things throughout the day. My husband and I took mental pictures throughout the day and it was really fun to remember little details throughout the night. One big main advice I give to other brides is making sure they make a list of all the certain pictures they would like for their wedding day so that they don’t miss any that they were wanting. It was so helpful for me to be able to have a photographer that worked well with the list of photos I gave her. Another thing I would say is don’t stress on your wedding day it will be perfect no matter the things that go wrong, realize that you were getting married to your best friend and that is all that really matters. Also, it is your special day so make sure to plan fun things that you want to do. Don’t feel like you need to cater to everyone else’s needs.
