Katie + Chase

How did you meet?

Chase and I met at a charity dating auction! We were both singles being paired with local dating packages (a baseball game, concert, etc.) to be auctioned off to raise money for cancer research.

We didn’t bid on each other, but Chase did give me his phone number on my way out!

When did you know they were the one?

We had taken a motorcycle trip (on the bike we would later get engaged ON!) up to ride the Tail of the Dragon. After a long and hot day, we just laid down on the couch together and I had never in my life felt so comfortable. I knew it was him, and not just the couch!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

He’s rock solid – very steadfast, calm and steady.
He’s light – he prefers to keep things easy, fun and enjoyable.
He’s a protector – he will always care for and prioritize my wellbeing.

Who proposed and how?

Chase proposed on 4/3/21 while we were on a sunrise motorcycle. However, it was under the guise of us recreating a photo where the girl is riding backwards facing the man (I know, NOT safe!). Little did I know as the photographer drove next to us that Chase would pull out a ring box that he had Velcro’d to the side of the bike!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I had already fallen in love with the Made With Love style online, and knew I would likely find something I loved within the brand. I love the simple, often-minimalistic design that is still effortlessly detailed and feminine. Right after getting engaged, a local stockist happened to be hosting a MWL trunk show that I attended. The minute I put on my dress I knew it was both special enough and felt like ME enough to be the one. I didn’t want to take it off!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Our toasts were incredibly special, and it felt like a perfect moment to encompass all of the love and celebration we felt throughout the day and night.

What were your favourite details?

We kept things very simple, and so there weren’t many! My favourite, though, was an alter I made to honour my father who passed away before the wedding.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Keep things easy on yourself and on your partner. Prioritize each other on the special day, because it’s for y’all and no one else.
