Katelyn + Nate

How did you meet?

Nate and I met in a finance class at The University of Colorado at Boulder. He was sitting right behind me, and we were put in a group together for the semester. It took a few months for the sparks to fly, but once we met on the dance floor one Friday night, we were inseparable.

When did you know they were the one?

As he held my hand walking me home from that night out. I could just tell that he was different.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

We push each other to be the best versions of each other (aka he kicks my butt in CrossFit 4-5x a week)
He is my best friend
He makes me laugh

Who proposed and how?

Nate proposed to me on a hike out in Colorado. His plan was to wait until the top, but the ring was burning a hole in his pocket and he couldn’t make it. He proposed and then we spent the rest of the hike high on life, high up on the mountain. He then had a surprise party waiting for me at this parents house. All my closest friends and family were there.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

Rosie was one of the dresses that I said “we can try it, but I don’t think that it is the one.” It was the second dress I tried on a Lovely bride in DC, and I couldn’t stop smiling when I had her on. Every dress after that was “it’s pretty, but it isn’t Rosie.”

I loved that it was different and unique, sexy but classy. We got married in Costa Rica, so having a light dress with cut outs was perfect.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

We decided to have a destination wedding in Las Catalinas in Costa Rica. The event lasted from Wednesday to Sunday, which made it so much more special. All of our favorite people were in a stunning location, and the celebration lasted so much longer than a traditional wedding. The entire thing was special, but one of my favorite moments was the father daughter surprise dance that I did.

What were your favourite details?

Can I say all of them? The flowers for me were the most special. We weren’t able to do a test run, but my wedding planner was able to make my vision come to life.

What advice would you tell other brides?

A small destination wedding weekend is the way to go!

Any standout vendors?

Mil Besos was our wedding planner, and they were incredible! 10/10
