Kasey + Ryan
How did you meet?
I met Ryan in my hometown of Dover, Delaware through the Bumble dating app. He is a Pilot in the Air Force and was stationed in Dover, Delaware at the time. We met up for dinner at the local Mexican restaurant and since then we both knew we had met our person.
When did you know they were the one?
I knew Ryan was the one after our second date. We clicked on all the fundamentals- had all the same values, and interests. We also had good chemistry and a spark that I had never felt with anyone else.
What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?
Ryan is a good leader, caring, thoughtful and loving.
Who proposed and how?Â
Ryan proposed on Cape Henlopen beach in Delaware on May 4, 2020. We were supposed to go to Hawaii during spring break of that year, but covid-19 shut that down and he had to come up with a back up plan. This back up plan was even better than the original because this beach was the beach I frequented as a child so it had a lot of sentimental meaning for me.
Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?
I saw the Made with Love Riley Lux Lace on Instagram and LOVED it. I knew that small little Delaware would not have Made With Love dresses so I looked over the store map and found Costal Knot Bridal in Raleigh, NC where my sister lived, and made the six hour drive down to try it on. The Bridal Assistant had pulled ten dresses for me and I saved Made with Love Riley for last and as soon as I put that one on, I knew it was the one. It is so me – very elegant and classy with the deep plunge giving it the wow statement!
What was the best moment for you at the wedding?
So many good moments! Walking down the isle to see Ryan and the dance to our final song with all of our family and friends would probably be my top moments. We danced to “The Time of My Life” by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes and it is such a timeless song – everyone was out dancing and I was crying happy tears.
What were your favourite details?
I wore my Nana’s wedding ring to feel like she was with me on my wedding day as my something borrowed.
What advice would you tell other brides?
Planning a wedding is one of the most stressful times in a relationship- just breathe. It isn’t all going to be perfect but it doesn’t have to be. It all comes together at the end.
Any standout vendors?
Our photographer – Savannah Wallett! She is one of my sister’s friends from college and she did an amazing job at capturing not just the images but the energy, vibe and happiness of the wedding day. It feels so personal and I will cherish these pictures forever.
