Kait + Michael

How did you meet?

Michael and I met at college! We both attended Washington State University where we met through mutual friends! We hit it off immediately and had so much fun together.

When did you know they were the one?

I knew Michael was the one because I could never resist smiling when I was with him! We constantly support each other and make one another better people. Michael is constantly lifting me up and encouraging me to follow my dreams.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His compassion, his kindness and his willingness to help others. Michael is constantly willing to help his family, friends and strangers and never makes anyone feel bad about it. He will always be there when someone needs it.

Who proposed and how?

Michael proposed to me after a nice dinner at a riverfront restaurant. He told me we had plans with friends and was going home first to change but once we arrived home there was a walkway with petals lined with photos of us throughout the years, string lights and a fireplace in our yard. It was snowing and absolutely perfect. Afterwards we had a celebration with family.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with my dress at first sight at a&bé in Seattle. I fell in love because I had been looking for an elegant but simple modern dress and Lucy met all of those guidelines. I loved the deep Vs and how the material flowed as I walked. It fit like an absolute glove and was perfect to dance the night away in!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The best moment for me was our vows, reading such private and sentimental words to each other is something I could relive forever.

What were your favourite details?

My favorite details were our flowers with simple whites and blues. I also loved all of our decoration details from open flame candles, vases filled with hydrangeas and the LOVE signs behind the dance floor.

What advice would you tell other brides?

This is one moment you will always remember, enjoy it! The stress can become overwhelming and all of the small details but at the end of the day you will look back at the best day of your life with your partner and nothing will matter except your love.

Our photographer Whitney was amazing!! She captured every detail and let us have fun while she did such great work. Our florist was a family member and they were phenomenal and so detailed. My hair and makeup artist were so helpful and made me feel incredibly beautiful. All of our vendors made us feel so special and provided us with everything we needed.
