Julia + Jeff

How did you meet?

Jeff and I met in high school through a mutual friend because I needed to sell concert tickets to my favorite band that I could not attend. Instead of just buying the tickets and never speaking to me again, Jeff bought me a shirt from the show because I couldn’t go and then asked me out on a date.

When did you know they were the one?

After making it through separate high schools, long distance in college and then moving 3 states apart after graduation Jeff and I had a brief break. During the break we saw other people but somehow we were always thinking about each other. After exactly a year apart we met up and discussed things and began to date again a few weeks later. When we started dating again I knew I could never let him go again.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

He is so driven with everything he does, he’s so supportive with all my ideas and wishes and he would do anything for the people he loves. He’s also very tall so that’s a plus.

Who proposed and how?

Ah! This is my favorite. Jeff and I took a trip to Acadia National Park in Maine during Covid in 2020. Everything was a bit crazy, you had to have specific reservations for certain trails, passes and times and everything was so crowded Jeff really wanted to do a sunrise hike(one where you don’t actually hike but drive instead because it would be pitch black while waiting for the sun to rise) but we could not get tickets. Jeff was determined to watch the sunrise on a mountain and suggested we by flashlights and hike 2 miles in the dark. I was scared to death because of bears but I did it, and I am so happy I did! Once we go to the top of the mountain the sun began to rise and about 20 minutes in Jeff asked me to watch every sunrise with him and to be his wife.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

Harper and Ivory in Cleveland, Ohio! I actually drove there to visit my family and decided to check out some shops while we were there. As soon as I put Archie on I KNEW that I had to buy it. It was everything I wanted, timeless, open back and a daring front.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Jeff and I actually did a hike after our ceremony by ourselves (and photographer) I was worried about hiking in a dress but it was so much fun and such an intimate part of the day. Hands down my favorite hike ever.

What were your favourite details?

The whole day had so many small details that really spoke to who we are. Our cat, Winston is our pride and joy and Jeff had custom cufflinks with his face so that was amazing. The biggest detail was Acadia and Maine and just incorporating all the things we love to do in our day and not sticking to traditional wedding traditions.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Do what is going to make YOU happy. The day goes by so fast, you want to make sure you weren’t worried about what Aunt Sally is going to think.
