How did you meet?

Lucas and I met at a festival in Amsterdam. Both single at the time but not really looking for anyone. When I stepped into a big old warehouse to listen to a DJ playing there, I stepped right to a group of guys. Luckily I knew a few of them from the local gym, but there was that one guy who I didn’t know. I remember thinking, what a charm!

Well, after looking to each other for multiple times. He finally said hi very quickly. I was thinking; “Am I really hearing this or am I insane? Well, here it goes…”, and I said “hi” back. Our conversation took it off pretty quickly and I asked him to exchange numbers, because I was afraid that I would never ever meet him again.

When did you know they were the one?

After our third date on the beach. He was making funny jokes, watching the sunset and having fun. I literally felt the sparks and thought; Yes! this is the partner for life.

WHAT ARE YOUR THREE FAVOURITE ATTRIBUTES OF YOUR PARTNER?

He is charming, intelligent and funny! I couldn’t imagine a life without him. He is everything I ever longed for. When carpooling together, we sing, laugh, hug and love each other. The mornings are the best, especially when he looks into my eyes and gives me a nice morning kiss. Real and pure love.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Who proposed and how?

He proposed to me in Portugal, Sintra at the palace gardens. He’d planned everything and I had no clue. We planned a trip to Sintra to visit the palace there and the surroundings. When coming back from the palace into the garden, he found a perfect quiet spot with a beautiful view over the town of Sintra and the coast. I was about to walk away to go to the next venue when he said “Jess turn around”. I turned around to place myself in a photo pose, when I noticed that he is one knee holding a pink box and a ring.

I couldn’t believe it – but yes there he was. He dropped the question and I obviously said YES!
He thought I would scream and make a scene. But I stayed quiet as my heart was beating pretty fast, and having so many thoughts about what to say, how to look at the ring, how to react.
In the end I just kissed and hugged him and my big smile showed him enough

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with my dress during my third fitting. At first I had imagined myself in a different dress and thought that would be the one. As our wedding theme was botanical, I thought a dress with flower detail would fit me better. Nevertheless, the one I thought which wouldn’t be my first choice ended up being the one.

I remember putting it on, and seeing how the dress fitted my body, making me feel elegant, classy but above all super pretty.
The dress itself is very detailed and not something other brides would choose to wear quickly. And that’s what I wanted: A dress that is special and perfectly made for me. This is how I fell in love with the dress.

Luckily – the dress was only available in the store during the trunk show and in the week, I planned my fitting. It must have been destiny.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The best moment at the wedding was our first look! Lucas never guessed that I would have chosen such a beautiful dress and would fit my body but also embrace my elegancy. He was beyond surprised and kept telling me how beautiful I looked.

Obviously, he was also looking very charming, the colour of his suit matched his skin and posture perfectly.

What were your favourite details?

My favorite details are the moments with family and friends. Drinking the cocktails together, dancing and having fun. Laughing and being silly with my husband. In addition, the moment we read our vows to each other was super magical.

What advice would you tell other brides?

I would advise them to enjoy every detail of your day. The big day goes by so fast that you sometimes forget to enjoy.

Don’t worry about small details, be happy and take the moment in. Dance, party, drink and celebrate love.

All our vendors were great! We are so thankful for their help and dedication towards our vision and idea.
Everybody that was invited loved our wedding. They loved all the details, the cake, the food and especially the wines.
