Laura + David

How did you meet?

David and I had our first date on the night of his parents’ anniversary dinner. We originally connected on a dating app, but our chemistry was quick and he immediately suggested that we meet for a drink- even though it was directly after family dinner on his parents’ anniversary!

When did you know they were the one?

David is insanely charismatic, but made an effort to highlight my accomplishments and ensure that I shined for who I was. I’ve never experienced someone loving out loud the way that he does.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

David makes everyone feel like they’re the the most important person- taking time to genuinely know everyone.
David makes me laugh with just a look and is rarely in a bad mood.
David is passionate about everything he takes on- as someone who’s never loved the outdoors, he’s dedicated himself to our shared garden space and spends every moment he can tending to our plants!

Who proposed and how?

David schemed to get me back to the very corner of Boston’s historic South End district, ending our walk just blocks from my old apartment where we shared our first kiss.
He’d arranged for a string quartet to play our song, “Maybe I’m Amazed” by Paul McCartney, and a photographer snapped our emotions next to a blooming tree in the early August sunset. Afterward, we share a picnic of lobster rolls and Rose on Boston’s explanade waterfront.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I’d tried on probably 20 dresses before I discovered MWL online. I immediately found a bridal salon nearby that carried their dresses and couldn’t wait for my appointment. I knew before I tried on a dress that they would be the one- modern, unique, but timeless, the style suited me perfectly. When I put on the Andy, it was the first time I truly felt once-in-a-lifetime in a dress.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

David surprised me with a song that he composed and performed for me about halfway into the reception. Although we had about 150 of our family and friends surrounding us, it felt like just the two of us on the dance floor, entranced by the music and never more in love.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Your guests want to celebrate your love story- make them feel your love and the party will create itself around that!
