Jamie + Cade

How did you meet?

Cade and I met when he moved to my school when he was in 4th grade and I was in 3rd grade. I was immediately smitten with the “older” kid, but we didn’t start talking until his family began hanging out with my neighbors when I was in 6th grade, he was in 7th. A year or so later, on May 27th, 2012, 3 days before Cade’s 13th birthday, he asked 12-year-old me via text to be his girlfriend. And the rest is history! We celebrated our 10 year anniversary the best way we knew how, officially tying the knot! On May 27th, 2022 we became husband and wife!

When did you know they were the one?

10 years of love!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His kindness, his sense of humor, and his loyalty to everyone in his life.

Who proposed and how?

Cade proposed to me on June 6th, 2021 while on a family vacation to visit his oldest brother who lives in Los Angeles, California. At sunset that evening, while we were at the Griffith Park Observatory overlooking the city with the Hollywood sign directly in view, he dropped down onto one knee wielding my DREAM ring that I had sent to him maybe 2 years prior to that. He kept track of it all that time and completely, 10000000% surprised me. I always thought I would see my proposal coming, but I was genuinely caught off guard. He did an amazing job. I wouldn’t have changed a thing.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I found my Louie Flowy dress at a&bé bridal in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I didn’t know what I was looking for in a dress, other than the fact that I KNEW I wanted long sleeves. As soon as a veil was added to my hair wearing Louie, I instantly burst into tears. I never believed in a moment of “this is the dress!” until it happened to me. I found a seamstress that was able to chop off Louie’s train to create sleeves, and also changed the neckline to be off the shoulder. The gorgeous pattern and comfortability of the dress sold me completely. It is soo unique and fits my personality so well. I paired it with your Harlow veil to tie in the detailing– it was magical!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

My younger brother and best friend, Jake, played his guitar absolutely beautifully as Cade and I slow danced the night away. It was so, so special.

What were your favourite details?

The gold accents all throughout our venue! Along with the added greenery that encapsulated the entire room. It was perfect.

What advice would you tell other brides?

DRINK WATER! And soak it all in when you can because, as cliché as it is, it truly does go by so fast. Don’t sweat the small stuff– the music buffered while I was walking down the aisle. I felt mortified, but as soon as I saw Cade at the end of the aisle, I forgot all about it. Remember what the day is for: GETTING MARRIED!
