How did you meet?

Josh and I met when we were wee ones, one in diapers and the other wreaking havoc in daycare! Our families have had a long-standing history and while we would like to say it started there, it took over two decades for us to have a legitimate conversation. We would casually see each other at annual Christmas parties, but it wasn’t until 2017 that we would slide into each other’s DMs and go on our first date. 🙂

When did you know they were the one?

We both felt it at a music festival a month into dating while Alt-J played. Haha!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His kindness, sense of humor, and ability to make everyone feel comfortable…. the fact that no matter who he meets everyone instantly loves him. He’s just so loveable.

Who proposed and how?

Josh proposed to me in Joshua Tree, CA in 115 heat at sunset haha! We were celebrating my 30th birthday and, unknown to me, a soon-to-be engagement. Josh suggested we head to Joshua Tree National Park to catch the sunset. After racing around the park, which we accidentally exited and returned to, we found the perfect sunset spot. By this point, I knew something was up; as I was taking pictures of the sunset, I turned around to see Josh clutching his chest and having what seemed to be an apparent panic attack. Before I could say much else, Josh said, “Hold on, I just gotta do this!” haha! He got down on one knee and following a sweet monologue that ultimately was not the speech Josh practiced, but perfect nonetheless, I immediately said “Yes!”. While grasping Josh’s sweaty hand, I reminded him about the ring he had fumbled out of his fanny pack (he especially packed just for that moment). From there, it was a done deal!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

Lovely Bride SF! I had been eyeing Andy for months and was dying to try it on but also was preparing myself to maybe fall in love with another dress. I knew I wanted a MWL though! But it really was all about Andy. Once I put it on, it was immediate. As for the Lola pants, there was not a single doubt in my mind I needed those sparkle dance pants!! Game changer!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Oh gosh, everything!!! Loved seeing all of our humans after this pandemic in one room together having the absolute best time. Our first look was the sweetest moment for me though. Having those few minutes together beforehand and being able to take it all in meant everything to us. We were just so happy to be there with each other and celebrating.

What were your favourite details?

I absolutely loved the MWL wings with Andy and my Harlo AU heels. I felt like a witchy garden Stevie Nicks princess. 🙂

What advice would you tell other brides?

Don’t get caught up in the small things the day-of. It all works out and it’s all about celebrating the love that day. Do the first look and take the 10 minutes to be with your sweets….. Your vendors have your back and make it all happen!

YESSSS!!!!! Cabie Films, Karina Santos Photo, Courtney Lawhon Events, and Unwritten Florals were the absolute dream team. I’m honestly still blown away and so thankful we found them all!! They made our day so memorable.
