Ionie + Alex

How did you meet?

We met at work at a shoe company head office. I now work in Beauty Media, Alex works in IT.

When did you know they were the one?

He is kind, funny and a great cook!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Jason is extremely motivated, thoughtful and loving.

Who proposed and how?

Alex proposed in the Tuileries Garden in Paris on a weekend away.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

My dress was RTW and I got it the month of the wedding as my original one fell through, long story! As soon as I put it on I felt like “a bride”. I bought the dress in London but the wedding was in Mallorca and I could just picture it at the venue and saw everything come together.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Walking down the aisle (by myself – because I didn’t want to be “given away”!) and seeing Alex waiting for me with his best man at the end. I walked down the aisle to Quindon Tarver – Everybody’s Free (from Romeo & Juliet). It was a surreal moment but I felt so happy and excited for what was to come.

My second favourite moment was doing the electric slide to Cameo – Candy. We got married abroad in Mallorca so we had a holiday with all our guests before the wedding. My man of honour (pictured) and friends taught all of our guests the dance to ensure we could all do it together on the night.

What were your favourite details?

I love that we had a beautifully decorated table for 2 for dinner. The day went so quickly but we were able to spend some time just the two of us at dinner.

The Mallorca Finca was so beautiful and we barely had to decorate it. I loved seeing all of our friends and family’s rection to seeing the venue for the first time.

What advice would you tell other brides?

I would also advise everyone to try on dresses that they think they wouldn’t like. The dress I ended up wearing was everything I said I didn’t want from a wedding dress but you really never know until you put it on!
On the actual day, try and be in the moment, the day goes so quickly and I get sad that I will never experience it again.

Any standout vendors?

All of our vendors were great. We (and all our guests) LOVED our celebrant, Glynis German. She was a perfect fit for our wedding. We wanted the whole day to be fun and relaxed for our guests and Glynis definitely set the tone as soon as they arrived.
