Gemma + Luke
How did you meet?
We meet through a close friend of mine. At a food and wine festival she introduced us and the rest was history we really connected immediately and started to spend time together a few weeks after. It felt as though we were just made for each other he is a beautiful kind genuine guy what kind of girl wouldn’t want that in a lifetime partner.
When did you know they were the one?
I knew he was the one when he first said I love you. You could tell by the way he looked at me that he never felt this way about anyone before an it was genuine true love and I was al he needed in his life.
What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?
There are to many to count but my favourite attribute is his strength. We have been doing IVF for the last three years and when ever I couldn’t push through an do another round he pick me up dusted me off an helped me find myself again. He is extremely positive and always sees the light at the end of the tunnel what ever we are going through.
Who proposed and how?
Luke proposed to me in Airlie beach Queensland which is my favourite place. I had no idea luke was going to propose I almost died when he proposed. It was beautiful on a balcony over the ocean he got down on one knee and told me how much I meant to him and what our future will look like. He said he knew he wanted to marry the first time I put a needle in my belly an he knew the lengths I went to for us to start a family.
Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?
I always wanted a made with love dress. I went to my local stock list in Mackay Queensland, Love Lace Boutique. I actually went in wanting the Penny but fell in love with the Ryder!
What was the best moment for you at your wedding?
I cannot choose what the best moment of my wedding was as the entire day was absolutely perfect. A very special moment was me and my partner sharing the vowels we wrote for one another. It was very emotional and heartfelt.
What were your favourite details?
As I love the ocean my wedding was on the beach, it was absolutely beautiful! I loved my flowers, my decorations, my hair make up, every thing about my day was perfect all of my friends and family being in one spot, it couldn’t of got any better.
What advice would you tell other brides?
To always have a backup plan the weather ended up getting really bad in Mackay. We didn’t have a backup plan for a venue we just put faith in that the weather would hold out for our big day as it was under the stars and we got lucky and the weather was absolutely perfect. It just made the week leading up to my wedding very stressful as there was thunderstorms and rain for the week leading up and the day after my wedding thunderstorms as well.
