Gabrielle + Aaron

How did you meet?

Bumble!

When did you know they were the one?

We had been dating about 9 months- largely long distance- when he got a job offer in Houston and he asked me to come with him. I had no hesitations and I think it was that moment I really knew he was the one. We lived in a city with no friends and our relationship really blossomed.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His calmness, humor, intellect.

Who proposed and how?

He proposed while we were on a ski trip in Jackson Hole, WY. We were in a courtyard surrounded by snow. When I turned around he was on one knee. I ugly cried and obviously said yes.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

Bella Lily in Glendale, AZ. I worked with Becca and she was incredible. I went there because they are the only retailer in AZ that carries MWL. I thought Archie was going to be my dress. I tried on about 5-6 dresses and they looked nice but I wasn’t having “that” moment. Becca encouraged me that bridal shows ruined that for people and as long as I felt beautiful and like a bride that would be it. I put on the Tommy Crepe and stood in front of the mirror. I had this huge wave of emotion come over me and I just knew that was my dress.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

So our wedding was a 3 day wedding weekend in Tuscany. We did a welcome pizza party, wedding, and a planned excursion to surrounding Tuscany. I don’t know how I possibly pick one moment- it was literal magic. We had never seen the venue and we arrived at night. We walked around and thought it looked great. When the sun came up we were blown away- the rolling hills, the old Tuscan buildings- it was perfect! One of my favorite moments was during our reception my husband and I did a choreographed dance to Dancing Queen that no one knew about it- it was a big hit!

What were your favourite details?

Honestly the venue was the detail. We really let the surrounding beauty be our backdrop and decor. We kept everything really simple- white flowers and olive branches, we had a string duo which was beautiful. The food was incredible (which is saying a lot, wedding food is always just okay).

What advice would you tell other brides?

For a type A high potential for being a bridezilla, a destination wedding was the way to go. Throughout the last year people would always ask if I was stressed and I was not. I had a planner coordinating everything who was very responsive. He would give me say 2 options for flowers- I picked and that was that. It was seamless!

Any standout vendors?

My wedding planner- Marco from Romeo and Juliet Weddings. We communicated for about a year and then we finally met the day of. He made the entire process so easy and I was very impressed.
