Esme + Jacob

How did you meet?

We were set up by two mutual friends in college, our first blind date was at a country themed night at our college bar. We haven’t stopped (badly) singing our favorite country songs together since!

When did you know they were the one?

There were many sweet moments leading up to our engagement. Seeing how kind and selfless he was, and how he wound do anything for his family or mine solidified without a doubt that he is the One.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His kind heart, ability to find humor in each day, and extreme care and loyalty for the people he loves.

Who proposed and how?

On a Friday in December our neighbors invited us to a ‘holiday happy hour’. I was hesitant on going (hello end of week tiredness LOL) but Jake said it could be fun. Given I can be easily persuaded (especially when it comes to happy hour) we decided to go. When we got to the restaurant the reservation was under our neighbors name. We were led to a room with a few empty tables, I thought we were the first to arrive. We ordered drinks and he turned to me and said “I have a confession, no one else is coming” he continued with the proposal, got on a knee, opened a ring box, and asked me to spend our lives together! I was over the moon happy, shocked, and we spent a great night talking about all the secret surprises that went into planning the proposal. The next day our families met us at a local park to celebrate – it was perfect!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

Soon after the engagement, my mom and I stated the Wedding dress search. Aw went to a local Pennsylvania bridal salon, Blanc de Blanc bridal. It was our first and last bridal salon shopping experience and we had a great time. Our consultant was friendly and professional and there were so many beautiful dresses to try. As we were nearing the end of our appointment our consultant pulled the Penny – not only was is stunning but our family’s dog name is Penny, it was a sign!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

It’s so hard to pick a best moment as the whole day was an absolute dream! Our ceremony was very special as we come from different religious backgrounds we decided to make the ceremony our own. My husband’s uncle officiated our ceremony, which was so special as he’s know us for a long time and family is extremely important to both of us. Additionally we wrote our own vows and I’ll never forget sharing our handwritten vows with each other, our families, and friends.

What were your favourite details?

My beautiful bridal party chose their own champagne colored dresses, they looked beautiful individually and together in varied shades of pale gold. The Champagne theme carried through our wedding with gold chivari chairs, linens, and even a champagne wall!

What advice would you tell other brides?

Stay with your partner to enjoy each moment of the Wedding day together!

Any standout vendors?

All of our vendors were fantastic and made our dream wedding a reality. Our photographer, Dennis Crider, was extremely talented and we had a blast capturing our day together,
