Emma + Luke

How did you meet?

We met working at a pizza restaurant… I was at uni and he was working there part time as he was also working part time for his dad (family business, which he’s now full time).
We were friends for a year working together, then one night at after work drinks… The rest is history!

When did you know they were the one?

After moving to the UK together for 2 years. We lived in London together. Lived together, worked together and travelled together for 2 years straight, I knew if we could get through that together he would be the one!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

He’s emotional, soft side. He’s definitely the affectionate lovey one in our relationship!

Who proposed and how?

He proposed, took me on a picnic to Mount Tambourine in the Gold Coast hinterland and proposed with a romantic picnic and bubbles waiting for us!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

At the MWL Gold Coast boutique. It was the second place I had looked for a dress and I knew I didn’t need to go anywhere else!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The rainbow that appeared mid-ceremony (despite the on-off rain during the day!)

What were your favourite details?

We kept our wedding to a budget as it was a small wedding. The flower details and the dress details were my favourite!

What advice would you tell other brides?

Enjoy the day because it goes so quickly! And I have no regrets with a smaller wedding of 40 guests. No making small talk and wasting the day catching up with long lost family/friends… I was always given the advice to make sure you spend the day with your new husband as that’s what it’s all about – rather than with friends and family you haven’t seen in ages. So a small wedding made sure that happened.
