Emma + Jack

How did you meet?

Jack, is my childhood sweat heart! We met through competitive swimming, where we would see each other at various pools every weekend, then he joined the swimming club I was at and it all started from there. He’s been my best friend ever since.

When did you know they were the one?

We would always come back to each other, it was like there was some magnet force. After multiple break ups (as you do through those younger years) we always found our way back to each other.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Jack is totally selfless, caring and hilarious.

Who proposed and how?

RJack proposed to me, all the way back in the summer of 2018. We’d not long bought our first home, it was pretty sparse with only a bed and wardrobe for furniture but he made me breakfast in bed accompanied by a dozen red roses and a bottle of champagne… I didn’t think this was weird because we had the day off to go to the horse racing (I should have clicked?). He confessed his love to me and then got down on one knee, he’d had the most beautiful ring made with such sentimental value.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I saw Georgie on Pinterest when I started looking at wedding ideas and had pinned her to my mood board, I later saw the dress again on Instagram and thought she is absolutely stunning and the totally timeless style I love, so easy to make your own.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Actually knowing it was going to happen! It was our 4th date, 2 years late and a whole different venue/wedding to the one we’d originally planned (but so much better, it was meant to be!) and then our travel day finally came, we sat in the airport waiting to board our flight when all of our carriers flights were cancelled, we couldn’t get any other flights that would arrive in time. We ended up doing an overnight 14 hour road trip to our venue in France, a few of our guests did the same! We all cheered when we got onto French soil.

Other than that… walking down the castles steps to a stunning setting to finally have the wedding of our dreams with all of our favourite people, a dream come true.

What were your favourite details?

The wedding was a 3 day event, I’d recommend this to anyone, you can relax so much more and do lots of different fun things and use all the different areas.
Having our first dance as the sun was setting, everyone waved sparklers around
Being able to party until 5am
The food and the wine was to die for! – wine from the vineyard of the chateau
Can ‘everything’ be my answer?

What advice would you tell other brides?

Don’t sweat the small stuff, remember what the day is really about, you’re going to have the time of your life, I promise!

Any standout vendors?

Our venue Chateau Lagorce, and the wedding planners/owners Anna & Edd. They make everything just perfect.
