Elenyah + Saam

How did you meet?

Like many modern day romances, we met on a dating app. I was traveling in Europe so we chatted for 10 whole days (an eternity in online dating) while Saam anxiously waited for me to return to the US. Our first date was lunch at a Persian café because that was all we could fit into our busy schedules. So certain that he had met his future wife, Saam went and bought a house on the same day of their first date…or so he claims.

When did you know they were the one?

Saam very quickly created a safe and welcoming environment for me, my niece, my dog and my friends. He accepted us as a part of his life, and did everything to support every aspect of my life- from helping friends move to cooking dinner for girls night. I’m lucky to spend forever with someone who genuinely cares and prioritizes other peoples needs, sometimes before his own.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Saam has many great attributes, but my favorites are his endless patience, his generosity towards anyone in need and his ambition and dedication to build the best life possible for us, our fur babies and our families.

Who proposed and how?

The proposal took six months of planning and ended with Saam getting down on one knee under a big canopy tree nestled in the vineyards of Paso Robles. I am notorious for being stubborn, and refused to get dressed despite many failed attempts from friends to get me to change- and that’s how I got proposed to in sweatpants. Wardrobe included, it was the most perfect moment and we will forever cherish it.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

It was love at first site online! Out of respect for the process, I tried on a total of 5 dresses but immediately went back to Louie.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Seeing and feeling the love and happiness that surrounded us from all our friends and family. The emotions on their face, the words they spoke, it was truly moving and made me feel so incredibly lucky

What were your favourite details?

My favorite details stemmed from the 3D lace on the Louie, which look like delicate flower petals. To continue the theme, I found some ceramic tuberose earrings off Etsy and made everything come to life with Joe Malone Tuberose Angelica perfume. It was a subtle way to honor my Stepmother, who we lost to cancer 11 years ago. She always planted the most beautiful flowers and would get tuberose leis when we went to Hawaii.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Trust your gut. While it’s not always peoples intentions- they often have a different vision about your wedding day look. It the end, it’s about how you feel. If you’re confident and comfortable, you will be glowing on your day of.
