Colleen + Paddy

How did you meet?

We met through a college Facebook group for the class of 2016. We hit it off and met before college started, in his hometown York, ME. Instantly Colleen was falling in love, while Paddy knew immediately his life was going to change forever.

When did you know they were the one?

She says, I just knew that everyday I was falling more and more for him and I’d never felt this strongly for another person that wasn’t family. As the years went on I would know for sure this is the person I want to marry and am Madly in Love with. I don’t think there was any one moment that made me realize it but a bunch of smaller moments and feelings that just came together. He says, it wasn’t like a specific moment, everything just felt right even when we were confined to a twin bed in a dorm room.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

He says she is driven, caring, and stubborn.
She says he is optimistic, athletic, and humble.

Who proposed and how?

He proposed at Fulchino Vineyard in the rain surrounded by some of our closest friends. We celebrated with a wine tasting.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with amazing floral lace, plunging neckline, and fitted silhouette at Vows in Watertown, MA. The texture of the dress was unbelievable soft and sleek compared to many other designers. I was torn between so many dresses from Made with Love, but ultimately the lace detail was absolutely stunning. It made me cry, and I was in love.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The best moment at the wedding was the first look. Everything led up to that moment. Tears were shed, anxiety and stress relieved, and so much love displayed.

What were your favourite details?

The bright fall floral arrangements and the dress for her and the food, especially the corn chowder shooters, for him!

What advice would you tell other brides?

Try not to worry about the small details, those aren’t the things people will remember. Your guests will remember the way the day made them feel.
Also try to carve out a few minutes to spend alone with your new husband at some point during the day, it goes by so fast and it’s really special to have a few minutes alone!
