How did you meet?

He was a friend of a friend, and we were picking him up for a party, and I just remember thinking he had the best smile and most infectious laughter.

When did you know they were the one?

Majority of our relationship was through long distance. When he left to another state to begin his doctorate program and I moved to be with him a year later.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?-

His patience, especially with me. His kindness, he always treats people with respect, and his heart, I never known someone to love as hard as he does.

Who proposed and how?

He proposed in our tiny apartment. He had our moms decorate the entire place in his image with 12 dozen white roses, it was a complete surprise.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I knew I loved Rosey the second I saw her online. When I tried her on, I loved her even more. I was so overwhelmed with dress shopping I thought I needed to wait so I didn’t rush into a decision. I ended up going with a different dress from a different designer and boutique, and regretted it the second I purchased because I couldn’t stop thinking about Rosey and the Holly veil. Thankfully, I was able to cancel my order and purchase my dream dress with Malindy Elene Boutique.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

Our first look and our private last dance. He doesn’t cry at much, and when he turned around, he wept. We were so happy and thankful for each other in these specific moments we got to spend alone.

What were your favourite details?

My dress! The arbor we stood under at our ceremony was repurposed and used behind our seat for speeches. It was covered in white roses like his proposal. The entire rooftop was covered with lights, and having 70 guests made it feel more intimate in a party setting.

What advice would you tell other brides?

I think the best advice I can give is don’t do anything your gut is against. Even if it’s not traditional, do everything you want to do. This is your day, and you deserve it to be as magical as you want.
