Brooke + Max

How did you meet?

My husband (Max) are professional dancers. We meet in 2016 in LA where we began rehearsals for a cruise ship contract.

When did you know they were the one?

Our love story began quite quickly and it was definitely one of the ‘love at first sight’ kind of stories! It’s not often you find someone who shares the same passion as you. Our love of dance was just the beginning for us.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Max is the most loving and thoughtful person I have ever met. There isn’t a day that goes by that he doesn’t put my needs first before anything else.

His goofiness…. You can’t go more than 5 minutes having a serious conversion before he makes a joke which usually leads to us in hysterics.

Max would do anything for his family. Unfortunately at the moment Max’s family are home in Ukraine and this has been a very hard time. He calls to check in everyday and just shows me how much love he has to give.

Who proposed and how?

Max and I spent 11 months apart due to covid. He eventually got his visa to move to New Zealand to finally be reunited again.

Max and I had already gone to a jewellers and had the ring designed and made. I knew he must have had the ring and was just waiting to see when he popped the question.
On the 2nd May 2021 we went into Auckland city, got some smoothie bowls, walked along the beach before heading to a look out over the city. He was acting quite strange and on edge! Eventually when there were no people around he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! He said he hadn’t ever been so nervous in his life! It was the cutest thing ever. We then went and had some celebratory drinks before calling the friends and fam with the big news!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I’m definitely the type of girl who sees something that she likes and is completely sold. I came across Made With Love on Instagram and immediately knew that I would be wearing one of these dresses. I wanted effortless, definitely knew I wanted a low back and something that made me look and feel confident.

The Georgie V2 was the one for me! The fabric is absolutely stunning, it fit like a glove and the deep low back was just everything and more. Also the train!! Absolutely stunning!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The whole day was so amazing and I just wish we could relive it over and over!
But the best moment was definitely walking down the aisle and seeing max Standing there. I was so nervous but as soon as I got to him and held his hands I felt so at ease. Also we had all our friends and family from around the world on zoom so we got to have them there watching our wedding. Also it wouldn’t be a dancers wedding without putting on a full on dance routine which was a big hit and so much fun!

What advice would you tell other brides?

Enjoy every moment!! Take some time to sit with your husband and have some alone time! Everything goes by so quick and it is so nice to have a moment with just the two of you!

Any standout vendors?

Our photographers Stephan and Nakita were amazing! The were so lovely to work with and made us feel so comfortable and their photography is incredible.

Anna at The Farmhouse (venue coordinator) she was our life saver! She pretty much planned everything for us. Made the whole planning process so easy.

Our celebrant Jaimee (marriedbyjaimee) she was outstanding. She helped us so much with our vows and how everything would run. She was so much fun to work with
