Brittany + Lachie
How did you meet?
We actually met at a house party in 2016. It was his birthday. Very cliché but we just started talking and I was (very) smitten straight away. We started dating not long after this!
When did you know they were the one?
I would say as soon as we moved in together, we had been dating for 3 years and it just felt so easy and right. We are quite different but also similar in so many ways, we complement each other’s personalities and I couldn’t imagine it any other way.
What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?
He is such a great listener and gives me the best advice, he always makes me laugh and he is so supportive of anything I do.
Who proposed and how?
He proposed on a weekend away for his 30th birthday with a big group of our friends, it was a beautiful sunset by the lake and he started making a speech to thank everyone for coming when it quickly pivoted into a proposal!
Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?
I saw this dress on social media not long ago, I had never seen anything like it and I was so drawn to it. I felt it was my personality in a dress! I loved the subtle sparkle, the long train and the intricate lace.
What was the best moment for you at your wedding?
When we sat down for speeches for sure. I had been so busy all day and it felt so nice to just sit down and take it all in. It was the most beautiful night in the garden, there was no wind (even the candles stayed alight!) and there was live jazz music playing under the fairy lights – it felt really magical and surreal.
What were your favourite details?
I loved our ceremony up on the hill overlooking Mount Warning, I loved the outdoor reception in the garden and I loved the speeches, they were so special!
What advice would you tell other brides?
Don’t sweat the small stuff, it can be so easy to overthink and worry about little details but in the end all that matters is having a great time with your friends and family. Also go with your gut – I often second guessed myself during the decision-making process and I found that by just going with what was more ‘me’ was very helpful. There are so many beautiful weddings and they are all uniquely beautiful in their own way – do what feels most like you!
Any standout vendors?
Ursula – our wedding planner at Mavis’s Kitchen was an absolute superstar, the venue was completely flooded a week before our wedding and she and her team worked tirelessly to make our day so special. We can’t thank her enough.
Sarah at Florals and Co – She absolutely nailed it! I adored my flowers.
Soda the Band ! – The dance floor was just so much fun because of these guys
Zac Heath at Pulp Agency (our wedding cinematographer), I have only seen a sneak peak of our video so far and it looks amazing!!
