Brianne + David

How did you meet?

Really bluntly put; We met on Tinder. Not a particularly romantic story. He was my one and only Tinder date. I was living in Scotland at the time and he was living in Vancouver, BC. I happened to be visiting friends in Seattle, WA and geographical we were close enough to find each other on the app. I guess you can say it truly was “ a match”.

When did you know they were the one?

We both love animals (I’m a veterinarian as well). After first talking to him for only a few days, he sent me a David Attenborough Documentary to watch. If this man was using David Attenborough nature documentaries as first “date” topics, I realized he might be the one.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His kindness and sincere care for all beings around him.
His calming presence which balances my sometimes more wild emotions
His intellect and mind

Who proposed and how?

David proposed to me, in the same hay fields that are featured in our wedding photos. It was the day after my birthday and on my family’s small farm. He had made sure to ask my Dad’s permission first (as he know that’s what I had wanted) and did it so my Dad could be a part of it (he was fighting cancer at the time and was terminal).

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I saw a photo of it on Pinterest and knew instantly before even seeing it in person that it was the one. So elegant, timeless but not too conservative or stuffy. The moment I put it on, I was convinced. Nothing else compared for me.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The whole day felt magical to me. But if I had to pick one, I think the best moment was sitting down at dinner and looking around at all the smiling, laughing faces and feeling all the love and joy from my friends and family celebrating this day with me. It truly filled the room!

What were your favourite details?

The name holders on the tables were small silver animals that we selected for each guest individually (somehow representing them or an animal important to them).
We choose to get married on my family’s small farm. It was the place I grew up and had a lot of special meaning to me.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Enjoy the day! It all happens so quickly on the day of your wedding. I can’t stress enough how important it is to stop and take in all the beauty and love that your wedding encompasses.

Any standout vendors?

She did an amazing job capturing our day! Especially the beautiful golden lighting of the fields in late summer, which is why I picked a late August wedding.
