Ashley + Brandon

How did you meet?

We met in college through our mutual friend, Maura. She is one of my hometown friends and met Brandon in college. Maura introduced us at party my sophomore year. Brandon and I remained just friends for a year and a half before we started dating. We thought it was only fitting to ask Maura to officiate our wedding!

When did you know they were the one?

Brandon is a year older than me and when he graduated we decided to give long distance a try as he was moving out of state for a job opportunity. Distance is never easy but there was a moment of realization during that year apart that I knew he was the one.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Loyal, loving, driven

Who proposed and how?

We went to our favorite Italian restaurant in the North End of Boston. It was a cold night on January 8, 2021, but we took a walk to the park nearby to see the beautiful archway decorated in lights for the holidays. As we walked through the archway path he got down on one knee (leftovers in hand) and proposed! He also hired a photographer to capture the moment.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

Everthine Bride in Madison, CT! I was there with my whole family (mom, sister, and dad – it was Father’s Day so had to invite him!). I went in knowing that Harlow was my first choice and I was hoping to love it just as much on me as I did in the photos. It was the first dress I tried on and I immediately knew it was the one! I tried on many others but nothing compared to Harlow!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The entire reception was so special. Our vision was to throw a huge dance party with all of our favorite people and that’s exactly what we did! While on the dance floor we realized that it would be the only time everyone we love would be all together at once. We really tried to take in that moment to look around the room at all of our loved ones.

What were your favourite details?

Our band/DJ combo was incredible! We had a DJ accompanied by a saxophonist and drummer. My husband and I love electric dance music so a DJ was a must but the live instruments gave it an extra special touch that was so unique. Our black & white Photo Booth was also a huge hit with our guests!

What advice would you tell other brides?

On your wedding day, forget about all of the little details and don’t stress. Live in the moment because it goes by in the blink of an eye and it will truly be the best day of your life!

Any standout vendors?

Our photographers Vicki and Erik did an incredible job capturing our special day! Our DJ also helped up throw an unforgettable party with a killer playlist.
