Amanda + Adam

How did you meet?

Adam and I met while attending Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. Adam, a freshman, and I a senior, our paths may never have crossed if it weren’t for our extracurricular activity’s crossing. I was on the dance team and Adam was a part of the club that attended all of the sports games. Because of this, Adam was aware of who I was. He also volunteered/worked for the women’s basketball team, in which I danced at the games. I noticed Adam during a game where he was all dressed up in a suit, looking handsome. So after the game, I decided to DM him on Instagram and the rest is history!

When did you know they were the one?

I think I knew Adam was the one very quickly. But the one memory that sticks out in my mind was when we attended an event for one of his personal training clients about a year into knowing each other. The event was a tribute show for the incredible Etta James. After hearing the tribute artist sing, “At Last” both Adam and I turned to each other and said, if we were to ever get married, this would be our song. It was such an incredible coincidence that we bought had the same thought, and despite being so nervous to share it, I think that’s when I knew.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

Adam is extremely passionate about his career and how he can make a lasting impact on others.
He is caring for all people he comes in contact with. From his best friend to a mere acquaintance, Adam is always seeking to deepen his relationships.
He has stuck with me through some pretty difficult times. I know no matter what, he will always be standing there on the other side of the storm.

Who proposed and how?

Adam decided to propose late summer of 2020. He custom-designed the ring he gave me (it’s perfect!) which took several months to perfect and arrive. It was delayed slightly which pushed Adam’s plans back slightly, but he decided to propose on his dad’s birthday. He had the perfect “excuse” to say we were all going to dinner together. Upon arriving at the restaurant, a place we had never gone to, his mom let us know that there was a wait and we should go on a walk (she was in on the proposal). The restaurant is on a large property with trails all around and we found this one section with tall trees laid out in a row. We walked through the trees to an opening where he got down on one knee and proposed. Despite the short delay, he had been planning the proposal for weeks which meant the spot we stopped at was intentional and the photographer was ready to go. We returned to the restaurant to dine with his parents, sister, BIL, and grandparents.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I saw the Harlow dress the day it was debuted on Instagram. I immediately saved it and sent it to my mom stating that I needed to try this dress on! The form-fitting bodice was a style I always knew I liked and looked good on my body. The intricate detail was stunning and I absolutely loved the neckline and low back details. I even purchased the matching veil, sight unseen.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

My favourite part of my wedding day was my first look with Adam. I felt like there was so much anticipation for the moment to be perfect and as soon as I saw him, I felt at peace. We simply ogled over each other for several minutes, it felt like time had stopped. It was magical and I am so happy that we have photos and videos to remember that moment.

What were your favourite details?

My dress honestly. It was the thing I was the most excited about. I could not wait to put it on and show Adam. The venue was a close second. We could not have asked for a more perfect venue allowing our guests to flow from one area to the next seamlessly.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Determine what areas mean the most to you. Don’t feel the need to splurge in every single area. At the end of the day, you are there to marry your best friend and it will be beautiful regardless of how much money you spend or how much you worry.

Also, make sure you take moments to step back during the event and just sit in awe of the incredible people who came to celebrate your love.
