Aleisha + Sam

How did you meet?

We met through a mutual friend at youth when we were both still in school!

When did you know they were the one?

I don’t think there was one’ moment where I knew he was the one. We’d been best friends for the last 6 months and I realised I loved having him around, talking to him and getting to know him. I knew I couldn’t imagine life moving forward without him definitely fell head over heels for him without even realising!!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

1. His passion and how hard he works
2. How he cares for people (even if he doesn’t like showing it)
3. How he can make me laugh, no matter how I’m feeling

Who proposed and how?

Sam proposed!! I asked him to wait (I knew he had the ring) and he did – he then took me to Point Leo one night, had a picnic all set up for me with dips and crackers and drinks!! We sat there watching the sunset and then he got down on one knee and popped the question!! My sister was also hiding in the bushes to watch the moment lol!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with it when It came across my Instagram feed! People had said to me that you never actually wear your ‘dream’ dress because you go and try it on and don’t love it as much. This was not the case for me! I fell in love with the dress even more when I had it on – I’d tried so many different options but I loved the Harlow! Felt so comfortable and so ‘me’ with a little bit of sparkly/drama!

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

I can’t just pick one moment! But I’d have to say one of the best was standing up at the alter with Sam, saying our vows to each other (he even cried a bit which made it more emotional). I’m a huge words person, so the speeches and everything just added hugely to the day! I loved all the moments taking photos together and the laughs – honestly I wish I could relieve the day over and over!

What were your favourite details?

MY FLOWERS OH MY GOODNESS!! Was obsessed with how they turned out! I honestly just loved how everything came together.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Honestly, it gets stressful, and it gets frustrating planning. Planning is not easy and it can be so stressful going through it, especially when it feels like your hubby to be doesn’t care/isn’t interested! Prioritise what you do want and forget about other peoples opinions. Ask for help where you need it as well!
