Addie + Jared

How did you meet?

Jared and I met when I was 15 years old. My best friend had just gotten her drivers license, so we went for a drive. Her friend invited us over to hang out with him, and a guy named Jared. We rolled up and I walked right into the house. Didn’t knock or ring the doorbell just walked right in. I turned a corner and bumped right into Jared, and said “Hi, my name is Addie and I need to use your restroom.” The rest is history.

When did you know they were the one?

I knew Jared was the one a week after knowing him. I couldn’t shake this feeling that I’d known him forever. I was so comfortable with him, and we would just laugh for hours. I would leave to go home and My cheeks and belly would ache from laughing so much. He quickly became my best friend and I knew there was something very different about him.

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

His goofy sense of humor, he makes me laugh constantly.
His compassion for people. Doesn’t matter who it is, or where he’s at he will help someone in need.
I love the way he loves his people. His nephews are his world. He’s built such a special relationship with both of them. He has a way of making you feel so special and loved.

Who proposed and how?

Jared proposed to me after about 5 years of dating. Once we decided to be in a relationship we became inseparable. He planned a Christmas photo shoot with a photographer I love, and told me it was a Christmas gift. He proposed in the middle of the shoot when I wasn’t looking. I had a feeling it was coming, but he really took my breath away with how special and private it was.

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I had seen the Penny on Instagram a long time before I got engaged. It always stood out to me, and I had her screenshotted in my camera roll before I was ever engaged. I tried on maybe 10 dresses before I tried on Penny and didn’t feel special in any of them. When I finally got to put the Penny on I didn’t want to take it off. It was classic. It was modern. It was sexy, yet classy. There wasn’t anything that I didn’t love, I just knew I wanted it in bright white.

What was the best moment for you at your wedding?

The best moment from my wedding was the moment the chapel doors opened, and the whole room gasped, and Jared so sweetly began to cry. I’ll never forget the feeling in that room.

What were your favourite details?

I had a summer wedding, so I wanted everything bright, and colorful. I feel like so many brides are doing the same things. I wanted everything at my wedding to reflect my personality. My dress was a showstopper, and I don’t think any other dress would have sufficed, and my florals were so dreamy, they really made my dress pop.

What advice would you tell other brides?

Don’t be afraid to go against the grain. Don’t be afraid to be different, and DO WHAT YOU WANT. So many people questioned my decisions, but once they saw it all come together it was perfect. Everyone is going to have opinions but try to remember that the day is fully about you, and your partner and it should reflect you and your relationship.
