Gabby + Brendan

How did you meet?

We’re high school sweethearts who met in 6th grade! We now live back in our hometown and I am a teacher in our sweet community! It’s all come full circle!

When did you know they were the one?

We were 16 and totally in love as soon as we started dating…but we had a lot of our young years to live and enjoy before it was time to tie the knot! Our wedding marked a decade of being in love with each other!

What are your three favourite attributes of your partner?

He is so hardworking, honest, and adventurous.

Who proposed and how?

Brendan proposed to me in Glacier National Park while backpacking with both of our families on a mountain biking/hiking/fishing/Montana exploration trip!

Where did you fall in love with your dress and why?

I fell in love with my dress at A&Bé Bridal Shop in Portland, Oregon. I instantly loved the way I felt in the crepe-it was so simple yet stunning! I found it with my Mom and Mother-in-Law by my side which was so special.

What was the best moment for you at the wedding?

The best moment for us was sharing our vows in front of all of our loved ones. They were so special…I’m so glad I skipped mascara! We also loved the toasts at our wedding, they were SO much fun!

What were your favourite details?

My favourite wedding details were our arbour and the beautiful flowers by our local florist. I also loved our farm tables and the way we hung our last name from the arbour during dinner time…it felt like a dreamy garden party!

What advice would you tell other brides?

Have FUN with it! It’s your day-make sure you enjoy it and let go of the notion that everything has to go according to plan. Something probably won’t go according to plan-but that’s the beauty of it. Embrace it all! Oh, and make sure you eat some wedding cake!
